WINONA -- Two men arrested in July for allegedly bringing cocaine into Winona County have their next hearings Sept. 5 in Winona District Court.
Cherico A. Neealy, 22, of Chicago, and Marquon J. Gray, 22, no known address, each face one count of first-degree controlled substance crime and one of importing a controlled substance across the state border.
According to the complaint, the State Patrol told Rochester police that troopers had learned Gray intended to bring $10,000 of cocaine from Chicago to sell in Rochester. On July 10, troopers stopped Neealy for speeding in Winona County; Gray was in the passenger seat.
Officials said they found the drugs in a blue metal box in the car. The complaint said Neealy said Gray paid him $100 to drive from Chicago to Rochester and said he knew nothing about the drugs.
