A pair of football players from Lyle/Austin Pacelli were selected to the All-Southeast Conference team for their efforts on the field this past season.
Nate Williamson, a senior, was the leading rusher for the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics and was rewarded for the ground exploits with an all-conference selection after his final season on the gridiron.

Justin Hutchinson, a senior, anchored the Lyle/Pacelli line from the center position, and he also was a key figure in the middle of the defense. Williamson and Hutchinson were both captains this past season.
The two seniors helped the Athletics make the transition this season back to playing home games at the new Lyle Field. Throughout the earlier years of their high school careers, Williamson and Hutchinson never knew what it was like to play a home game.
L/P football coach Mark Buntje gave credit to his entire senior class from this past season for enduring three years of trials and tribulations while not being able to play home games as the new field in Lyle was under construction. The seniors were finally rewarded for their perseverance as they won the last home game of the season against Glenville-Emmons.
This started a new winning tradition at the reborn Lyle Field. The senior class went out winners in their final game. The torch has now been passed to a new generation of players in Lyle.
Most of the conference honors went to the champions from Houston. The Hurricanes won their second straight SEC title and will be playing for the nine-man state championship next week.
