‘U’ shuts out Bemidji State

BEMIDJI, Minn. — Freshman goaltender Alyssa Grogan recorded her first shutout, leading the University of Minnesota women's hockey team to a 3-0 victory over Bemidji State on Friday.

Grogan, who improved to 4-0-1 this season, had 16 saves as the No. 2 Gophers (8-2-1, 7-1-1 WCHA) took their second shutout of the season.

After a scoreless first period, the Gophers' Emily West scored at 1:05 of the second period. West's goal was assisted by Kelly Seeler and Monique Lamoureux.
