ROCHESTER -- A memorial service for Vera Thomas Cox was held in California. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester at a later date.
Mrs. Cox, 84, of Kern City, Calif., formerly of Rochester, died Feb. 6, 2002.
She was born in 1918. As a child she moved to Rochester, where she graduated from Rochester High School. During the 1950s she worked in radio and television. She worked at radio station KLER, and later at KROC-TV. In the mid-60s she and her two youngest children moved to California.
Survivors include a son, James Thomas of Bakersfield, Calif.; three daughters, Dimitra Keefe Campbell of Cincinnati, Ohio, Deanna Keefe Snow of St. Paul, and Jane Thomas Ragland of Marina, Calif. One son preceded her in death.
