ROCHESTER — The funeral for Verva A. Wheelock will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Macken Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Thomas Loomis officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mrs. Wheelock, 82, of Rochester, died Monday (March 31, 2008) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Verva A. Cockerham was born Nov. 3, 1925, in Hamburg, Iowa. She married Lawrence "Bob" Wheelock in 1954 in Sydney, Iowa. He was the owner of Bob’s 63 Club in Rochester until the late 1980s. He died June 30, 2001. She was an avid baker and cook and loved gardening and crafts.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn (Ronald) Berven of Rochester; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Macken Funeral Home.
