Vikings standout to speak about book, career

From staff reports

Legendary Minnesota Vikings player Matt Blair will speak and sign copies of his book "To Be a Viking" at the Rochester Public Library next month.

The event will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 19 in the library auditorium.

Blair is considered one of the greatest middle-linebackers to play professional football. His book contains his personal reflections on his career with the Vikings, along with interviews with other current and former Vikings stars, including Fran Tarkenton, Daunte Culpepper, Mick Tinglehoff and Carl Eller.

Books will be available for purchase at the event from the Friends of the Library Bookstore, and the first 50 people to buy a copy will receive a bonus copy of Blair’s first book, "Homeless Dream."

The event is free and open to the public. No book purchase is necessary to attend.
