ELGIN -- The funeral for Violet M. Zenk will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elgin, with the Rev. Kevin Robson officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles.
Mrs. Zenk, 89, of Elgin, a former postmistress, died Wednesday (Sept. 10, 2003) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Violet M. Loppnow was born Dec. 19, 1913, in Elba. On Aug. 18, 1976, he married Russell Zenk in Nashua, Iowa. They lived in Plainview before moving to Elgin. She was postmistress in Elba for six years and also had worked at Fisher Greenhouse in St. Charles. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, sewing and genealogy.
She is survived by her husband. Two sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call from noon until time of the service Saturday at the church.
