CHASKA — Wabasha-Kellogg advanced to the semifinals of the state Class A high school baseball tournament today with a 10-2 win over Chisholm in the quarterfinals.
Matt Sandstrom pitched a complete game five-hitter with five strikeouts and one walk. He faced the minimum 12 hitters over the first four innings. He is now 10-2 for the season.
The Falcons (23-6) had six hits in the first inning en route to scoring five runs. A two-run single by Chris Sill was followed by a two-run double by Ben Edelbach. In the second inning, Sill added a two-run double that put W-K ahead 7-0.
Chisholm drops to 17-4.

W-K plays at 3 p.m. today in the semifinals.
Two years ago the Falcons finished fifth in the state tournament.
