Rochester police captured a man who was wanted on an arrest warrant — and who was obliging enough to appear at the Olmsted County jail to pick up someone Friday morning.
When the 31-year-old man was discovered, he left the jail and fled in a car, a police spokesman said. An officer on patrol arrested him in the 500 block of Fourth Avenue Northwest.
Police also discovered 24 grams of crack cocaine during a search of the vehicle, according to the spokesman.
The arrest warrant is for misdemeanor traffic offenses. The suspect, listed as having no permanent address, also was being held for a drug offense, according to jail records.
