Heat and humidity will continue to build into the region today.

High temperatures will be pushing the 90 degree mark, and the heat index - or “feels like” temperature - will be well into the upper 90s.

The breeze will be noticeable out of the south southwest gusting into the 20s.

A combination of the heat and high humidity will fuel the atmosphere and produce a few thunderstorms.

Storms will become more widespread in the evening, possibly becoming strong to severe with hail, wind, and heavy rain being the main threats.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible throughout Sunday as well.

In addition to storms, Sunday will be hotter yet with a heat index approaching the triple digits.

Storms are again likely to become severe.

By Monday, the heat and humidity back off and sunshine will again return. Isolated thunderstorms are possible mid-week.
