A slow moving area of low pressure will move out of the plains and lift northeast through the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes. As this system passes by our area, on and off chances of rain showers and even thundershowers will be possible. It doesn't appear to be a rain all day sort of situation through Friday, but having the umbrella and/or rain jacket handy over the next few days will be a good idea. The southeastern part of the state will have a shot at over an inch of new rainfall by later parts of Friday. There are hints of a couple showers on Saturday, but I'm leaning toward a drier weekend ahead.
