Web site lists traffic counts for state roads

Average daily traffic count figures for state, county and some local roadways statewide are now available on the Minnesota Department of Transportation's Web site.

The address is: www.dot.state.mn.us/tda/maps/trafficvol.html#.

Mike Schweyen, the state's regional traffic engineer, said the information is useful to real estate agents, land developers, business owners, public officials and others who are looking for information on traffic volumes.

The most recent data on the Web site is from 2002, with some counts also available from 1999 and 2001.

Average daily traffic counts on city and county roads are updated every four years on a rotating basis. State highways are re-measured in even-numbered years. Data is collected annually between April and October.
