Two local artists are showing their work throughout this month at Austin Area Art Center in Oak Park Mall.
Jim Wegner, a retired Austin art teacher and renowned area artist, is showing pieces along with Shelley Aquino Brandon, an accomplished member of the art center. Wegner’s work includes abstracts done in acrylic, oil and watercolor. He also has sculptures on display. Brandon’s art involves pastels and watercolors, with birds as a common subject in her work.
A public reception for the two is set for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the art center. Refreshments will be available.
The gallery is open from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
