Whistle Binkie’s to sponsor, host charity events

Whistle Binkie’s Olde World Pub is sponsoring the annual Whistle Binkie’s Golf Tournament on June 18 at Oak Summit Golf Course. Proceeds will be donated to the Out of Darkness Walk for Suicide Prevention.

The event is a four-man best shot tournament and will begin with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. The entry fee is $75 per golfer and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, T-shirt and dinner. Prizes will be awarded at a banquet after the tournament.

Whistle Binkies will also host the Jamie Engle Benefit for the "Out of Darkness Walk" at its north location from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. June 20. The event will include hot air balloon rides, a silent auction, a Scotch Egg eating contest, bake sale, meat raffle, door prizes, rummage sale and food specials. There will also be live music from the Innocent Reggae Band. Proceeds will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
