ROCHESTER -- The funeral for William A. "Bill" Engel will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ranfranz &; Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester, with the Rev. Sam Dull officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.
Mr. Engel, 93, of Winona, formerly of Rochester, died Sunday (July 13, 2003) at Sauer Memorial Home in Winona.
He was born Nov. 5, 1909, in Winona and grew up there. On Sept. 18, 1931, he married Bertha Viola Soldner in Winona. They moved to Rochester in 1961. Mr. Engel was employed by Gopher Aviation for 13 years and then by Ohlrogge Jewelry in Zumbrota for 16 years. He also worked at Dayton's in Rochester. His wife died Nov. 15, 1994. He was a member of Homestead United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Robert E. of Winona. A sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call an hour before the service Thursday at the funeral home.
