AUSTIN -- The funeral for William Gerald Williams was Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Hastings, Minn., with the Rev. George Shick officiating. Burial was in Grandview Cemetery in Austin.
Mr. Williams, 88, of Hastings, formerly of Austin, died Friday (Oct. 22, 2004) at Augustana Care Center in Hastings.
He was born May 25, 1916, in Greenwood, Wis. He worked at Hormel Foods Corp. for 38 years. On Aug. 12, 1938, he married Marytheo Ferguson in Viola. She preceded him in death. He married Evelyn Olson on June 7, 1980, in Austin, and she also preceded him in death.
Survivors include six sons, Earl (Natalie) of Kingwood, Texas, Gene (Kaye) of Wyoming, Minn., Larry (Deb) of Fort Collins, Colo., Lon (Julie) of Renton, Wash., Michael (Bobbie) of Hastings and Curtis (Teresa) of Worthington, Minn.; a daughter, Carol (Steve) Fair of Hastings; a stepson, Tom (Geri) Simonson of Cashton, Wis.; a stepdaughter, Debra Glick of West Salem, Wis.; 36 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Naomi Lamb of Ontario, Wis. He was preceded in death by a stepson, two brothers and a sister.
Ellis-Wise Funeral Home in Hastings was in charge of arrangements.
