Woman accused of biting off part of nose

WAITE PARK, Minn. -- Police arrested a 19-year-old St. Cloud woman Friday, saying she bit off a piece of another woman's nose in a fight earlier that day.

Waite Park police had to obtain a search warrant to recover the piece of nose, which was reattached to the victim, a 22-year-old woman, at St. Cloud Hospital.

Stearns County Chief Deputy Bruce Bechtold said the biting took place during a fight between the two women shortly after 3 a.m. Friday during a party at a Waite Park house.

A 17-year-old boy, who was the son of the house's owner, refused to open the door when police knocked, so they got a search warrant. Police found the piece of nose in the kitchen, Bechtold said.

The alleged attacker was arrested in St. Cloud.

Authorities continued to look for others at Friday's party who witnessed the fight but ran away when police arrived, Bechtold said.
