MANTORVILLE -- A Dodge Center woman faces one felony count of malicious punishment of a child.
Tracy Lynn Wobbrock, 33, was charged Monday in Dodge District Court. A summons detailing the charge was issued to Wobbrock on Dec. 13.
According to a criminal complaint, the Dodge County Sheriff's Department received a report of child abuse June 27 that allegedly occurred at Wobbrock's day care.
A deputy apparently saw numerous marks on a 9-month-old child's neck and a large scratch and bruise on the left side of the child's face. There were two other large marks on the child's collarbone and neck, according to the complaint. The deputy reported the marks appeared as though an adult-sized hand was placed around the child's face and neck.
An emergency room doctor told investigators the child's injuries were "consistent with those of a firm squeezing or choking," according to the complaint.
