Woman hit by car in fair condition

From staff reports

A Rochester woman is in fair condition after being hit by a car while crossing a busy street near Saint Marys Hospital earlier this week.

Police Capt. Jim Pittenger said LeeAnn Johnson, 35, was crossing 14th Avenue Southwest about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and was hit by a car driven by Larry Greene, 45, of Dodge Center.

Pittenger said there had been a long line of cars waiting for the stoplight to turn green and Greene had moved to the right lane going north on 14th Avenue.

He said Johnson was crossing the street and got caught between lines of cars and didn't see the Greene car. Johnson was listed in fair condition at the hospital Wednesday afternoon.
