Woman hits boyfriend with vehicle

A 19-year-old woman is in police custody after driving across her lawn to hit her boyfriend with her vehicle Wednesday night.

The woman faces second-degree assault charges, Rochester police said.

The incident occurred at 9 p.m. on the 1900 block of 14th Street Southwest.

The couple had been arguing that evening and the man, 22, had taken off on his bike, according to the police report. The woman tried to follow him in her vehicle. He returned to the house and was standing with his bike on the front lawn, witnesses told police. Shortly after, she drove up the driveway, across the lawn and struck him, witnesses said.


The man was transported to Olmsted Medical Center Hospital, treated and released.
