From staff reports
A 25-year old Rochester woman was reported injured in a two-vehicle accident in downtown Rochester on Monday.
According to police, the woman, Amini Abdullahi Mohamed, was driving behind a vehicle driven by Thomas Joseph Mangan, 56, of Rochester. Both were traveling north on Broadway at 12:55 p.m.
Just south of the intersection with South Second Street, the cars came upon a lane closure. Mangan's vehicle stopped, but Mohamed, instead of hitting the brakes, apparently hit the accelerator, Lt. John Edwards said. Her vehicle struck Mangan's.
Mangan was not injured, according to police. Mohamed was taken by ambulance to Saint Marys Hospital. The hospital did not have any report on her condition this morning.
