Woman robs Rochester couple at knifepoint

Rochester police said this morning that a robbery occurred on the city's southwest side Thursday.

A woman with two young children knocked on the door of a home in the 800 block of First Street Southwest, according to Capt. Brian Winter.

The man and woman who answered, both 23, recognized the woman as someone they'd seen in the neighborhood. She asked to use the telephone, Winters said, and the couple let her in.

Once inside, the woman put her hands in her pockets, said she had a gun and demanded money. The man and woman said they had none. Winters said the woman waved a knife around and disconnected a game system with it. She left with the game system. It was found outside later.

The woman has been identified from a photo lineup but hasn't been located.
