An Austin woman allegedly was stabbed by her 29-year-old boyfriend Friday night following an argument in a vehicle, police say.
Officers responded about 9:05 p.m. to Austin Medical Center for a 21-year-old woman who had been stabbed in the leg by her boyfriend, Police Chief Paul Philipp said.
Police are searching for the boyfriend, who allegedly took out a pocket knife, placed it near the woman’s ribs and stabbed her once in her right thigh inside of a car while parked outside of an Austin residence, the chief said.

With the man still in the car, the woman then drove to the hospital, Philipp said. Her boyfriend, however, got out of the car at the Eighth Avenue and North Main Street intersection, running north.
The woman, Philipp said, was treated at the hospital, then booked into jail because there were warrants out for her arrest.
