The Olmsted County Sheriff's Dive Team was called in to assist Rochester Police in the recovery of the body of an adult female found in Sliver Lake Thursday afternoon.

Rochester police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was pulled from Silver Lake late Thursday afternoon.

Authorities were checking the area of the northeast side of the lake as part of their search for Dawn Jeanette Ehret, 53, when they came across the body about 10 feet off the shoreline about 3:50 p.m.

Lt. Casey Moilanen said the identity of the woman found has not been confirmed, nor have family members been notified.

Preliminary indications are that foul play was not involved, according to Moilanen, adding there is no danger to the public at large. No signs of trauma were evident on the body, he said.

Officials will continue to search the water for any evidence, Moilanen said, but nothing else had been found.

More information about the investigation is expected Friday.

Responding to the scene were members of the Rochester Police Department, the crime scene unit, the Olmsted County Sheriff's dive team and the medical examiner. The body was removed from the scene about 6:10 p.m.

Ehret's family members reported her missing earlier Thursday, telling authorities she left her residence on foot on Wednesday evening. They are concerned for her welfare because they say she has health concerns and has not contacted friends or family.

Ehret is described as 5 feet 6 inches, 100 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Rochester police at 328-6800 or dial 911.
