An electronically published book written by Kathryn Sullivan, distance learning librarian at Winona State University, has won an EPPIE award for Best Fantasy e-book from the Electronically Published Internet Connection.
The EPPIE Awards, which recognize outstanding achievement in electronic publishing, were presented at ceremonies in Seattle March 16. Sullivan's e-book, "The Crystal Thorne," tied for the top honor with Elaine Corvidae's "Winter's Orphans." "The Crystal Thorne," a story about two children who learn to work together in order to defeat witches and unravel a curse that has enslaved a magical land, soon will be published in print and may be ordered from bookstores as well as the publisher, RFI West.
Sullivan's second book, "Agents and Adepts," is set to be published later this year.
