WILLMAR — The Rochester Community and Technical College women’s basketball team garnered several awards at the Minnesota Community College state tournament banquet Thursday night at Ridgewater Community College.
Rochester sophomore center Brittany Gladis was named to the MCCC All-Southern Division First Team and to the MCCC All-State First Team. Gladis, from Chatfield, averages 16 points and 9.3 rebounds.
Kasie Heimer, a freshman guard from Rochester, was named to the All-Southern Division Second Team and was also a Second Team pick for All-State. She averages 13 points and 4.5 rebounds.
Trisha Peterson was named honorable mention in the Southern Division. The freshman guard from Lewiston averages 10 points and 5.7 rebounds.
Yellowjackets head coach Steve Hucke was voted the Southern Division Coach of the Year. It was the first time the fifth-year coach has won the award.

Rochester is competing in the MCC state tournament today through Sunday at Ridgewater.
