SOFTBALL

• The Rochester Youth Fastpitch Softball Association (RYFSA) is conducting a camp for grades 6-12 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 24, 2009, at the UCR Regional Sports Center fieldhouse. Cost is $50.

Winona State players and coaching staff will be on hand to aid and instruct campers in all areas of the game. Campers need to bring their own glove, and catchers should provide their own equipment.

Winona State is a Division II university. In 2008, Winona State was once again Conference Champions, and finished the season 38-15 overall with a 14-4 mark in the NSIC. WSU has also spent much of the past three seasons ranked in the top 25 in National Polls, including finishing 15th in the final 2008 Poll. The Warriors are led by two-time NSIC "Coach of the Year" Greg Jones. In eight seasons, Jones has guided 43 student/athletes to All-Conference Honors, 17 players to All-Region Honors, and three to 1st Team All-American status. In addition to Jones, several standout WSU Softball players will be on hand to help guide and instruct camp attendees. Questions can be directed to: ryfsa@ryfsa.com. Space in camp is limited.
