Zumbrota-Mazeppa High School advances to the state one-act play competition with its production of "Tartuffe."
Zumbrota-Mazeppa, which competed Jan. 29 at Winona State University, has competed at the Section 1A competition for the past four years, but this is the first trip to state in the school's history.
Seven other schools participated in the competition, including Lake City, Wabasha-Kellogg, Byron, Stewartville, Southland, Fillmore Central and Spring Grove.
The state competition is scheduled for Feb. 11 at the O'Shaughessy Auditorium on the campus of the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul. They will perform "Tartuffe" at 9:15 a.m. that day. The play is co-directed by Becci Berg and Tom Ersland. Admission charge is $5.
