GOODHUE — Members of the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the death of a 10-year-old boy that occurred early Friday evening.
The sheriff's office reported being called at 5:17 p.m. to a medical situation after the boy had been climbing in a tree at a residence in the 33000 block of County Road 6 near Goodhue.

Family members started CPR, and emergency workers continued the effort, but they were unsuccessful. The boy died at the scene.
The Goodhue County Sheriff's Office, Goodhue first responders, the Goodhue Police Department, the Minnesota State Patrol, Red Wing Ambulance and a Mayo medical helicopter all responded to the scene.
The child's name is expected to be released Monday after further investigation and notification of relatives.
