WINONA — A 14-year-old St. Charles boy was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly robbing three men at gunpoint late Wednesday in Lewiston.
He was taken to a juvenile detention facility, appeared in Winona County District Court on Thursday for the alleged aggravated robbery and then was returned to the facility, where he remains, said Winona County Chief Deputy Ron Ganrude.
He said the call came in at 11:26 p.m. about a robbery in the 300 block of Benson Drive in Lewiston. Winona County deputies and the Lewiston officer responded, he said.
The three men said they drove to an apartment, and the 14-year-old came out and robbed them of $360 at gunpoint.
They said he fled back into the apartment, the three followed and there was another confrontation. The boy went out the window but left the gun behind. It turned out to be a CO2 gun, Ganrude said.

When officers found out who the boy was, they went to his St. Charles home and arrested him. He said he took the weapon because he was afraid of the three. He just showed it to them, but he didn't point it at them, he said.
