Rochester police discovered 50 pounds of marijuana in a car sold by Rochester Ford during the weekend.
Rochester police received a phone call from the St. Paul Police Department Saturday morning, notifying them that a group of Ford Fusion cars shipped by rail from Mexico were transporting marijuana, said Capt. John Sherwin.
"That's how a lot of drugs get into the country," Sherwin said.
St. Paul police tracked one of those vehicles to Rochester Ford.
The Ford Fusion had already been purchased by an 87-year-old man, but the dealership was able to contact him to have the vehicle checked.

Police located 50 pounds of marijuana where the spare tire would normally be located in the trunk of the car.
There are no local suspects, Sherwin said.
