A bird's-eye view from the '40s
As we anticipate the growth and changes Destination Medical Center will bring to our city, we are reminded that the Rochester we know today is greatly altered from the one many still remember.
This picture postcard from the 1940s illustrates how much so.
The Plummer Building and Kahler Hotel remain to give us our bearings as we look eastward in this bird's-eye view of the city as it looked at that time.
Next week: Water water everywhere
Lens on History is a weekly photo feature by Cindy Scott, a volunteer at the History Center of Olmsted County. Thanks to the HCOC Research Center and Archive for this photo postcard.
