Adult survivor of infancy polio to speak

Author Linda L. Christianson is scheduled will speak about her experience with lifelong polio at Barnes & Noble at Apache Mall Saturday (U.S. 52 south and U.S. 14 east in Rochester).

She will also sign copies of her book "All the Steps I Have Taken."

Christianson was diagnosed with polio as a baby, before she learned to walk, and recounts her experiences of finding a positive path through life. Polio and its after-effects have impacted her experience in many ways.

For example, as a child, she never skipped rope or ran, which altered the way she experienced life, compared to those around her.

Christianson plans to speak about her experience, take questions and then sign copies of her book. Her presentation starts at 1 p.m. and she plans to be available for book signing until 4 p.m.
