Armed suspect hits local business, robs two

Rochester police are investigating an armed robbery reported Friday night at a local business.

Officers were called about 9:20 p.m. to Asian Massage, 915 N. Broadway, where a female employee said she and a customer had just been robbed.

According to the police report, the suspect entered the business and demanded money; the business doesn't have a typical cash register system, so the man then demanded cash from the employee.

A 43-year-old man from Rochester who was inside was also robbed of his cash, said Capt. John Sherwin. Less than $100 total was stolen.

The robber was armed with a handgun, the report says, which he pointed at both the victims' heads.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 10 to 6 feet tall with a medium build, wearing an aviator hat with ear flaps, a black leather jacket, skateboard shoes with the tongues sticking out and light-colored baggy pants.

He also wore a light-colored bandanna over the lower portion of his face, the report says. The man left northbound on foot, possibly to a waiting vehicle, Sherwin said.

Police are reviewing video surveillance of the incident.
