Experience: Seeking re-election for my third (two-year) term as At-Large Member of Austin City Council. This position serves the entire city.
Current chair of the Austin Sustainability Task Force, served as appointed member of the Austin Planning Commission for over 12 years, served as appointed member of Austin Human Rights Commission, graduate of the Blandin Community Leadership Program, current volunteer member of the Board of Trustees for Austin Area Foundation, co-founder and current member of Board for Matchbox Children's Theatre 1975 to present, was a Charter Member of Board of Directors for Austin Area Commission for the Arts/Historic Paramount Theatre and served on that Board from 1990 until December 2011, was also an active Paramount Theatre volunteer, volunteer member of the Seibel Center Consortium, Vision 2020 PR committee member at start of project and now serving on committee for re-use of former downtown power plant, volunteer for participation and PR Committees for August 2012 Austin ArtWorks Festival and am working on same committees for 2013 festival, member of Austin Rotary Club.

What are the biggest challenges facing the city of Austin now and for the near future?
1. Ongoing challenge to effectively communicate how the city council makes decisions regarding the responsible use of taxpayer dollars; 2. Remain focused on best quality of life for Austin; 3. Keep moving forward with Sustainability Task Force.
How will you work to overcome those challenges?
1. Ongoing review and discussion of the city budget, listening to citizen ideas and concerns; 2. A more dynamic website and other social networking tools; 3. Sustainability Task Force can provide a solid foundation for growth.

Depth of experience, perseverance, a proven record of active community involvement and dedication to Austin for nearly 40 years, strong collaboration and communication skills, willing to do the work to get things done.
