Authorities seek assistance after bomb scare in La Crescent

LA CRESCENT — Students were evacuated from La Crescent High School Friday afternoon after a note with a bomb threat was found in the school, according to police.

The building was evacuated at 1:43 p.m., when police were called to the scene.

All vehicles in the immediate area were cordoned off for security reasons as the school was closed for re-entry until 6:30 p.m., when students and staff were allowed back in, according to the La Crescent Police Department.

No incendiary devices were discovered at the school, and the incident is under investigation.

La Crescent police were assisted by the Houston County Sheriff's Office, Hokah and Houston police, the Minnesota State Patrol, and the Olmsted County Sheriff's office, which provided bomb-sniffing dogs.
