Rochester Community and Technical College Foundation's 11th annual Beat the Odds event will be Jan. 27 at the Rochester International Event Center.
The event celebrates the achievements of local youths who have overcome significant obstacles and persevered to begin a path to personal and academic achievement.
Four local high school seniors will receive $2,500 scholarships for college. More than $130,000 in Beat the Odds Scholarships have been awarded to 85 local high school seniors in the past 10 years.
The Post-Bulletin and Wells Fargo will be joined by 350 community leaders in sponsoring the program this year, which also will benefit the Rochester Community and Technical College Foundation and Minnesota Children’s Defense Fund.
