Two Rochester companies have teamed up to host the sixth annual Black and White teen dance on Thursday.
This year, Seize the Moment Entertainment, which started what's been called the "prom of the summer," partnered with Renaissance Entertainment to help grow the already popular event.
Seize the Moment Entertainment and Renaissance Entertainment were started by students at Mayo High School to throw themed mixers and dances. Seize the Moment started in 2006, and Renaissance Entertainment began in 2009. The two companies have worked together on several events since 2009, but this will be the first time they will throw the popular Black and White party together.
The event, which features a live DJ, runs from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Rochester International Event Center, 7333 Airport View Drive S.W. It is open to youths who will be in high school this fall and are younger than 21.
Party-goers are asked to wear black and white clothes. There isn't a formal dress code, but most people dress up.
