SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — South Dakota authorities say they have found the body of a Minnesota man reported missing in July.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a Department of Transportation worker on Aug. 31 discovered the body of 72-year-old Thomas W. Thurik and his motorcycle in an embankment along U.S. 385, about six miles south of Deadwood, S.D.
Authorities believe Thurik was driving along U.S. 385 when he left the roadway for an unknown reason and went over the embankment. The exact date and time of the crash are unknown. He is believed to have died from the injuries.
Thurik, of Bloomington, was reported missing July 25.
