Bridge replacement to cause Minnesota 30 detour

HAYFIELD — Motorists travelling Highway 30 east of Hayfield can expect a detour starting Thursday when a bridge replacement project begins, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Icon Constructors is the prime contractor on the $658,000 project on Highway 30 near Dodge County Road 15.

The project is expected to be completed in September. The bridge, which is 7 miles east of Hayfield, was built in 1951. The work includes grading, paving and replacement of the bridge, as well as guardrail installation.

The detour route for eastbound Highway 30 is north on Dodge County Road 4, which becomes Olmsted County Road 26, then south on Olmsted County Road 26, then south on Olmsted County Road 3 back to Highway 30. The westbound route is the reverse.
