Bridge tournament starts Friday

The Rochester Bridge Club's Hiawatha Spring Sectional tournament begins Friday at 1 p.m. at the La Quinta Inn & Conference Center in Rochester, 1625 S. Broadway.

The tournament runs through the weekend with six game times for pairs/teams and Swiss Team play. The game times are Friday, 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 10 a.m.

The Rochester Bridge Club will use its new automated dealing machine, which can deal 52 cards in six seconds. It also provides players with a printout of the hands dealt.

The tournament is open to the public. Those who want to play must have a partner. The entry fee is $8 for bridge club members and  $9 for non-members. For more information, go to www.rochesterbridge.net.
