Brooklyn Park grocery store shooter identified

MINNEAPOLIS — Authorities are identifying the man who apparently shot and killed two fellow employees in the break room of a Brooklyn Park grocery store before fleeing the scene and killing himself a short time later.

The Hennepin County medical examiner's office said 23-year-old Aaron L. Parson of Brooklyn Park died Friday night of a gunshot wound to the head.

The Star Tribune reported 21-year-old Michael Habte and his girlfriend, 20-year-old Abigail M. Fedeli, were shot and killed at Festival Foods by Parson, who was apparently fueled by jealousy.

The medical examiner's office says Fedeli was shot once in the neck while Habte was shot several times. He died while in surgery at North Memorial Medical Center.

A friend of Habte tells the newspaper the shooter used to date Fedeli.
