CANNON FALLS — A 23-year-old Cannon Falls man died Friday in a car crash near Hastings.
The Dakota County Sheriff's Department said Dylan Patrick Johnson was driving alone in Douglas Township south of Hastings when he lost control of his vehicle and it hit a tree. He apparently wasn't wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His obituary said he was born in Cannon Falls and loved to build and race demolition derby cars.
"He was at ease covered in mud and/or grease," it says. "Dylan worked hard, and played even harder."
