CANNON FALLS – The Cannon Valley Fair opens for the 99th time July 1 and runs until the fireworks on July 4.
There will be many events for people of all ages. Crescent City Amusements will be on the Midway throughout the fair. The Grande Day Parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. July 4, with fireworks starting at dusk.
Other attractions during the fair include the Battle of the Bands on July 1, the NTPA Truck and Tractor Pull on July 2, a demolition derby on July 3, a Hitchville Band concert on July 3 and harness racing on July 4.
Wristbands that allow unlimited carnival rides will be sold in advance at Althoff Hardware for $15 and during the fair for $20. The Battle of the Bands and the concert are free events, but $12 admission for adults and $5 admission for kids younger than 12 will be charged for the tractor pull and derby. Admission for the harness races will be $10 for adults and $5 for kids.
Livestock shows will start on July 5 with a 4-H, FFA open horse show. Other shows will include rabbit, goats, sheep, beef and poultry, among others.

Other events that won't charge admission include a Siberian Husky dog sled demonstration, pioneer photography, robotic puppets, the Cock-a-Doodle Zoo, a wood workshop, the Half-Pint Magic Show and a kiddie barnyard open daily.
