Car collides with school bus in Wabasha County

Two people suffered minor injuries Tuesday in Wabasha County when a car ran a stop sign and collided with a school bus.

The bus was carrying the Plainview-Elgin-Millville girls basketball team, which was on its way back from a tournament in Lake City. No players were injured.

The drivers of both vehicles were transported to a medical facility as a precautionary measure, said Wabasha County Sheriff Rodney Bartsh.

Bartsh said the accident occurred at about 5 p.m. at the intersection of county roads 2 and 33. The car was heading west on County Road 33, went through the stop sign at County Road 2, and collided with the bus.

Bartsh did not have information regarding where the injured drivers were taken.
