Starting Wednesday and running through February, testing for U.S. Census Bureau jobs in the Austin area will be done.
Those interested may participate in a 1 p.m. testing session Wednesday at the Austin Public Library.
U.S. census officials are seeking a large number of people to handle the door-to-door contact that might be necessary after the initial census mailing, according to a news release.
Positions are part-time, starting this spring and summer, the release says. The work will involve contact in all neighborhoods with people who didn't return the mailed questionnaire.
Preferably, census officials would like to place people within their own neighborhoods, the release says.
