The goal is any kid's dream — a mile of macaroni and cheese — for Channel One Food Bank and Food Shelf .
Laid end to end, that would be about 9,000 boxes of mac 'n' cheese. And the plan is to collect it all during Rochester's WinterFest .
Several WinterFest events will serve as food collection points, including the Friends' WinterFest Book Sale on Friday and Saturday at the Rochester Public Library, Fuel Rochester's Brainiac Trivia Night, Warm up to the Polar Bear Plunge on Saturday at Whistle Binkies on the Lake, Free Family Day on Saturday at the Rochester Art Center, exhibit opening and winter Flux Saturday at the Rochester Art Center, and Breakfast with the Birds on Feb. 12 at Quarry Hill Nature Center.
All three Rochester Hy-Vee stores will host special collection events from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Plus, both Rochester Noodles & Co. restaurants are offering a free bowl of mac and cheese for anyone who donates three boxes of macaroni and cheese Monday through Wednesday.
