The city of Austin is helping Mower County out with its five-year capital improvement plan by agreeing to have the city's finance director, Tom Dankert, help with the plan on a part-time and interim basis.
The Austin City Council unanimously approved the agreement at its meeting Tuesday. Dankert's main task, according to the contract, will be to coordinate the preparation of the capital improvement plan for the county. He will be compensated by the county for his time, with hours that will vary depending on the needs of both the city and the county.
