Some people actually cook for fun

Most everyone likes to eat, but not everyone likes to cook.

For many, the reason is because they don't have the time, hence the popularity of take-out and heat-and-eat meals. There are, however, excellent home cooks in our area who take pride in preparing meals carefully, using the best ingredients they can get their hands on.

St. Charles finds new strategy for bringing business to town


After its biggest employer was lost to a fire nearly a year ago and the company decided not to rebuild, St. Charles was left to struggle with finding a replacement.

Oddly, it found what could be a major new development in the ashes of the effort to find a new home for North Star Foods, said City Administrator Nick Koverman. The city is now considering a business park.
