First District Rep. Tim Walz hopes to hear from constituents Friday during a visit to a Rochester grocery store.
The Democrat will host a "Congress on Your Corner" event from 11: 30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the produce department at the Hy-Vee in Barlow Plaza, 1315 Sixth St. N.W. The name of the event is in honor of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot during her own "Congress on Your Corner" event at a Tucson, Ariz., grocery store.
"Hearing the thoughts and ideas of southern Minnesotans is the cornerstone of our representative democracy. I am looking forward to the opportunity to hear from folks," Walz said in a written statement.
